Our cellar crew made their own wines!
BLOG
Last harvest, we started an experiment: Our cellar crew members got to flex their individual winemaking skills, each creating a wine that reflected their personal style. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a creative, hardworking team who’s stuck with us for years. So we’re letting them shine. Meet Jack, Hector, and Austin (and their first releases).
2025 White Blend
by Jack, our assistant winemaker
“As most winemakers can admit, it’s hard not to compare our New World wines to their counterparts in Europe. I struggle to make Pinot without thinking of Burgundy, Nebbiolo without thinking of Piedmont, or sparkling wine without thinking of Champagne. Yet the white wines of Bordeaux are a style I haven’t really explored. This friendly cellar competition allowed me to make a wine without any preconceived notion of what it should taste like. It allowed the expression to be purely my own. Whether it tastes traditional or not is of no concern to me. I’m just happy it gets to be shared and enjoyed. Some may call it ignorance, but I’d prefer to call it bliss.”

2025 Grenache Rosé
by Hector, our cellar technician
“Sourced from my family's vineyard that I've seen grow since my toddler years, where decades of agricultural knowledge and dedication have shaped every vine. Being the first from my bloodline to turn our fruit into wine, I set out to create a standout vintage that honors my family's legacy while forging one of my own. Thoughtfully crafted from vineyard to bottle, this Grenache Rosé is fresh, vibrant, and made to be enjoyed on any occasion, at any time of the day- a true comfort for the soul. ¡Salud!”
ABOUT THE WINE
Vineyard // San Miguel Vineyard
Winemaking process // 12 hour cold soak maceration, Soft press, Barrel fermented, Aged for 5 months in Neutral French oak.
Tasting notes // Notes of Tropical fruits, punchy strawberries and cream. Mild zippiness with a raspberry finish.
Pairings // Pairs well with a perfect beach day—not too hot, not too cold, but just right for a nice tan. Bachata flowing through the speakers, waves crashing, and the sun setting over the water. Accompanied by a cooler featuring fresh Mango Ceviche, with the perfect balance of sweet, citrusy, and spicy flavors. Some chips and guac, and chopped-up fruit dusted with Tajín. The type of day where the rosé stays cold, the music stays playing, and just enjoying the right type of punch.
2025 Cabernet Franc
by Austin, our cellar operations manager
“Nine years ago, I found myself working in the wine industry without knowing much about wine at all. What started as an unexpected job quickly turned into a passion. Along the way, I had a bottle of Cabernet Franc at a local restaurant that really inspired me and changed the way I thought about wine. I was amazed by how many different styles and expressions Cabernet Franc could have. This wine is a reflection of that journey—of learning, exploring, and appreciating the versatility and character that makes Cabernet Franc such a special grape.”
ABOUT THE WINE
Vineyard // Vukelich Vineyard
